The Letter ‘L’
|
In true Sesame Street form, this post is brought to you by the letter ‘L’, showcasing the best female-led musical acts haling from across the pond. La Roux – Although they are a duo, their front woman is an androgynous electropop ginger who will rock your world. Oh and Major Lazer did a collabo NBD. Ladyhawke – She’s from NZ but whatevs. She’s blonde, hot, and has a song with Miami Horror, PNAU, and Fred Falke (ALL AT ONCE!). Her self-titled album ‘Ladyhawke’ is delicious. Little Boots – Another electropop blonde bombshell, her debut album ‘Hands’ is a must-have. Fred Falke, Fake Blood, Rusko, Designer Drugs, Treasure Fingers, and Kaskade are a few of the DJs who’ve remixed Little Boots’ songs. That must say something right? Lykke Li – Me likey Likke Li. Her real name is actually Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson and her voice is simply heavenly. Her sound is a bit more chill, but I love this upbeat remix of ‘Little Bit’ by AutoErotique. El Perro Del Mar – OK so ‘El’ counts right? Meaning “The Dog of the Sea” in Spanish, this swedish femme fatale is anything but. Wikipedia describes her as “melancholic lo-fi indie pop which I think is pretty accurate. She even did a duet with Lykke Li. How fitting. |
