Young Empires

This local electro-dipped indie act is another prime example of why Toronto is being touted as a candidate for music capital of the world. “Wake All My Youth” is a seven track, tropical tour lead by strong lyric writing, twanging guitars, soothing synths and various other wooden and drum instruments. To be honest when an album of this caliber is released mid winter, I can’t help but be completely jealous of our down-under followers. But there’s a strange comfort in knowing that somewhere in the world someone’s blasting “Beaches” while in a friend filled vehicle that’s pointed in the general direction of the closest watering hole. I can’t say enough about this EP, so I’ll just shut up and let you enjoy the sun-soaked, summer vibes.
