More specifically, their “matchups” usually pit Hip-Hop/Rap/Urban sounds against Electronic/Indie vocals and melodies. Think Penguin Prison VS Notorious B.I.G, Whitney Houston VS Chromeo and Usher VS Santigold to name a few. Like PB&J, the result of such odd pairings is unusually pleasing.
