Mash-ups usually entail two tracks fighting for your attention in a heap of musical nonsense. But sometimes, it just feels right. And thanks to local indie dance duo the Wheel Wells, we have the vocals from Goldroom’s “Angeles” making sweet sweet love to the musically perfect “Something About Us”. DJs, you’re going to want to pick this up for your next summer time set.
Toronto, you’ll be able to check out another high quality disco party this Saturday at Wrongbar with the Wheel Wells along side Cole Co and DJ Arroganz. If you’re looking for reduced guest list, feel free to tweet at us! (@SurroundUs)
Also, if you haven’t marked down May 18th in your calender for Viceroy @ Czehoski, do it. Right now. Because this is one of the biggest names in disco in one of the best looking venues in Toronto.
Break out your weekend shoes, this one’s top notch. Another electrofied dance remix from the Oliver camp (no assembly required/funky bass-line included)
Foster the People – “Don’t Stop” (Oliver remix)
This FTP remix was released on soundcloud along side their newest Punks Jump Up/Dave 1 “Mister Overtime” re-imaging. Make you check it out if you haven’t already!

Brand new material from Scissor Sisters! The NY pop act has remixed Ladyhawke’s “Sunday Drive”, the second single from “Anxiety” due May 29 from Modular. This is probably one of my most anticipated albums of the year.
Fred Falke has finally returned to his french house-dance roots. This time, transforming “Love is Real” off Theophilus London’s Timez Are Weird These Days into an absolute dance anthem. Seriously reminiscent of his earlier Gossip/The Whitest Boy Alive remixes.

LA producer Viceroy recently got his disco grip on one of my current favorite electro-pop tracks, and the end result is a must hear. Don’t have St Lucia’s newest self title EP? Then I suggest you pick it up here before the summer begins. It’s the music equivalent of push ups and tanning beds.
Picture a track like “Something About Us”, but then make it funky. Shook and Ronika come together in “Distorted Love”, one of my favorite singles so far this month. Nothing like a smooth modern funk with extremely solid female pop vocals layered on top. Like a perfect disco cupcake.
Always really into this guy’s material, whether it be remix or original. This Chromatics remix has the right touch of glitch and sun filled synths. Another one to accompany you on your sunny afternoon day drinking adventures.
Just in time for those en route to Coachella this/next weekend, Zimmer has made the Nu Disco gods rain down upon us with his latest April mix ‘Desert Drive’. I’m really enjoying the growing evolution of Nu Disco lately into this new sound which I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s like upbeat lounge/disco music that you actually want to dance to. Great work Zimmer.
I’m pretty sure the blog world irrupted with the release of this remix (well, the ones that matter anyway). No surprise that A.N.D.Y is making a name for himself outside the recently deceased DJ tandom Mustang. Love the tempo change at about 3 and a half minutes, sounds MJ-esk.
So a bunch of my friends from Toronto (including this guy) will making the trek to Coachella this year and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t beyond jealous. I’ll never forget my time spent in those magical polo fields. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be reminiscing while taking in this sun soaked set from local disco enthusiast DJ Arroganz.
